CASIC Successfully Organized Its 2022 Annual Meeting

Kampong Cham, Preah Vihear, January 24^th – 26th, Cambodia Conservation Agriculture and Sustainable Intensification Consortium (CASIC) organizes its 2022 Annual Meeting to present CASIC’s achievements of 2022 and the workplan for 2023.

The 3-day annual meeting saw the CASIC team along with the H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries visit the Bos Khnor Conservation Agriculture Research for Development Centre (CARDEC) and the Cambodia Rubber Research Institute (CRRI) to showcase the relevance, progress and potential of agroecology and regenerative agriculture in Cambodia.

“Conservation Agriculture and Sustainable Intensification Consortium Cambodia has joined numerous international forums and has been strengthening cooperation with stakeholders through co-organizing programs and providing opportunities to participate in programs. This showed that CASIC is getting recognized both local and internationally.”

The CASIC team also visited the CARDI Research Station in Preah Vihear as well as other agroecology sites and observed the progress of MetKasekor activities in the field. This was followed by presentations on CASIC’s achievements in 2022, the sub-committees’ achievements in 2022, along with the work plan for 2023. The Preah Vihear Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries also presented on the MetKasekor model and its implementation by the farmers, followed by the presentations on the plans of SevaKasekor, KropouchKasekor and Dei Meas.

Through the discussion of themeeting, Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of PailinProvince was included as the member of CASIC executive board.

The CASIC annual meeting also sawattendance of representatives from Department of Agriculture Land Management, Departmentof Agriculture Engineering, Royal University of Agriculture, the FrenchAgriculture Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD) andSwisscontact.
